BIPOC SCHOLARSHIPS

Presented by RIDE WITH GPS

Understanding that systematic racism and other injustices have created more significant barriers to outdoor recreation among Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Ruta del Jefe seeks to increase access and reduce barriers to participation for up to ten participants who identify as BIPOC.

Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration (including camping and food), and a small travel stipend. They will not be required to participate in the fundraiser or pay the donation portion of the event.

If you identify as BIPOC and feel that this scholarship would help you gain community and a meaningful experience, please fill out this scholarship form by November 16.

Applications were due by November 16, 2023, at 11:00 pm MST. All applicants will be notified whether they did or did not receive a scholarship by November 18. Financial Transparency

The Ruta del Jefe festival experience is priced at $650 USD. To make it accessible and support local conservation, Indigenous, and humanitarian efforts, we partner with outdoor industry brands to cover up to 50% of the event's operational expenses. These partnerships enable us to reduce the registration cost for participants. In return, we ask participants to contribute the remaining event value by participating in our community fundraiser. Your ticket price covers the rest of the event costs, and your fundraiser/donation will be evenly distributed among the following organizations: Frontera de Cristo, Borderlands Restoration Network, Por La Defensa del Rio Casas Grandes, N'dee/N'nee/Ndé Nation, and Cuenca Los Ojos.
